Rabbit Island in Nelson - Tasman Bay is a reasonably exposed beach break that does not work very often with no particular seasonal pattern. Offshore winds blow from the south southwest with some shelter here from southwest winds. Easily blown out by an onshore breeze Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the north northwest. The beach breaks are all lefts. Best around high tide. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up.
