Maryland Surf Breaks
Similar to Delaware, Maryland's surf can be few and far between. With a broad continental shelf stretching out, the surf generally doesn't pack a punch and have enough power to create a consistent wave, although that doesn't mean that the coast is a stranger to good surf. Hurricane swells out of the Atlantic can stir up some excellent waves around the Ocean City area which is in general the most popular area to surf on the Maryland coast. If you're up for a bit of exploring, then grab yourself a 4WD and head down Assateague Island and bag yourself one of the many waves that frequent this part of Maryland. Crowds can be a problem in summer, but so can surf, with winter months being far the best time to surf.
