Oahu Surf Breaks
Hawaii has the best surf in the world, and Oahu has the best surf in Hawaii. From Town to Country, Leeward to Windward, the variety of surf spots is rivaled only by the variety of characters that surf them. Oahu is known as "the gathering place" and since the dawn of our sport surfers from all over the world have been gathering on Oahu to surf the crowded reef breaks of Waikiki, or to test their skills and their courage against the North Shore's seven miles of thrilling --- and deadly --- giants. Locals on the West Side gather at Makaha, where a Sunday at the beach is part family carnival, part gladiator match, or converge at one of the many hidden gems on East Side. There is no bad time of the year to be a surfer on Oahu, provided you know where to go, and know how to surf once you get there. And by knowing how to surf, I don't mean just knowing how to rip --- I mean knowing how to fit in with the vibe in the lineup, and knowing your own limits. Because Oahu has killer surf. And I mean that literally.
