Perth City Coast Surf Breaks

Long stretches of clean and clear water coastline where most breaks are easily accessible. Mostly beach breaks from Swanbourne to Scarborough on shifting sand banks. Reef breaks are available at Cottesloe and North Beach. The peak surf season is from April to October ..... Ken Hall

The scenery is beautiful, the best time to surf would be summer when it is clean, glassy with nice weather and perfect size in summer or spring as spring has good shape and sometimes slight barrels, there area few reef breaks along the coast then your main beaches like Trigg, Scabs and City beach but Trigg is probably the best and fantastic in summer ..... Mitchell

Much of the Perth Area is an exposed beach break that usually has waves, but in summer tends to be flat. The best wind direction is from the east (changing to east northeast or east southeast depending on the spot position). Ideal swell angle is from the west (it can change depending of the spot as we said for the wind direction). No crowds during the week, it can be crowded sometimes here, especially during summer weekends. Be warned that sharks (great white) have been sighted, and various deathly attacks happened in the last months of 2011 ..... Igor
