Virginia Surf Breaks

Virginia holds an array of surf spots, the sad thing is most are on the dotted islands along the coastline which are only accessible by boat. Far in the south the coast is open and can receive a good blast of surf. Regardless of this most Virginia surfers still tend to head south to North Carolina. Virginia beach is a developed seaside resort so doesn't attract the more hardcore surfers. Mainly beach breaks. Quite a contrast in water temperature through the year with Winter needing a winter wetsuit and for summer, boardshorts being the chosen attire.
