Works best in offshore winds from the northwest with some shelter here from northeast winds. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell angle is from the northeast. Good surf at all stages of the tide. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Be wary of rips - they make surfing here dangerous.
