Table - best surf conditions forecast for Praia de Asturias over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty. Let's be honest, the next couple of weeks for Praia de Asturias are looking pretty flat and ordinary. The good news is that the water temperature is about average for this time of year, so you won't need a 5/4 just yet.
The overall pattern is one of small, weak surf. The combined swell energy is mostly in the low to mid 100s and 200s, which is just moderate energy, and it drops off into the low double digits by the end of the run. The swell direction is coming from the south and southeast, while the optimum swell direction for this spot is from the east. This mismatch is a big part of the problem.
The only real standout, and I'm stretching to call it that, is the morning of Thursday, July 9th. We've got a glassy 2ft south swell (11 second period) with a combined energy of 186. It's surfable, but very ordinary. The wind is dead calm, making it glassy, which is a big positive.
The next morning, Friday July 10th, is also glassy with a 2ft southeast swell, but the period is a long 14 seconds. That's better for a point or reef, but at a beach setup like this, it might break too straight. The energy is only 152.
After that, the daily forecast is a mix of cross-off, cross, and onshore winds with tiny waves. A few mornings have glassy conditions, like Sunday July 12th (2ft, 12s, 209 energy) and Wednesday July 16th (3ft, 10s, 167 energy), but the swell is just too small and weak to get excited about.
From Saturday July 19th onward, the energy drops below 100, effectively a flat spell. The waves are too small for any real surfing. The gap with no real recommendations lasts from around July 13th all the way through to the end of the forecast period on July 24th.
So, to be blunt, the best you'll get is a couple of tiny, glassy mornings in the first week. If you're desperate for a paddle, Thursday July 9th morning is your best bet. Otherwise, it's a blank run. The forecast could change, but for now, it's a tough look.
Rusty.
