Praia Brava in Florianópolis is a fairly exposed sandbar break that has very consistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Ideal winds are from the west with some shelter here from south winds. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the best swell direction is from the east. The sandbar break provides left and right handers. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded.
