Table - best surf conditions forecast for Praia de Camburi over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here, and I've got the lowdown on what's coming our way. Let's get into it.
First up, we've got a solid run of surf starting this Friday afternoon at Praia de Camburi. The water's sitting at a comfortable 75°, which is about average for this time of year, so nothing wild there. The overall energy is moderate (556), and we're seeing a 4ft SE swell with a 14-second period – that's a proper groundswell, meaning good shape and power, but with those longer gaps between sets. The wind is offshore from the ENE at 12 mph, which will keep it clean. This is a beginner-friendly spot, and it's fairly consistent, so it's a good one to get the weekend started.
Saturday morning looks even better. The wind drops to a glassy 3 mph from the north, and the swell bumps up slightly to 4ft from the ESE, still with a nice 13-second period. That's prime, clean conditions. The crowd factor is "sometimes," so it might get a bit busy, but with quality like that, you'll be stoked. The energy is moderate (463). Saturday afternoon, the wind swings to a cross-shore SE breeze, and it gets lumpy – not worth it.
Sunday morning offers a smaller, 3ft ESE swell, but the wind is a clean cross-offshore from the north at 9 mph. It's surfable, but ordinary. The energy has dropped to 240. The standouts are definitely Friday afternoon and Saturday morning for the best of the first week. Wednesday the 15th afternoon and Thursday the 16th are also looking clean with 5-6ft SE swell and favorable winds, but the energy is still moderate (854 and 760), so keep those in mind.
After Thursday the 16th, the surf starts to fade. The second week sees a lot of small, weak swell with periods down around 7 seconds and energy readings under 100. From about Sunday the 19th through to the end of the 16-day window, the waves are pretty much flat or too small and weak to bother with. There's a big gap of no real recommendations from the 19th onward.
So, if you want to paddle out, your best bets are the first weekend (July 10 and 11) and the middle of the following week (July 15 and 16). After that, you're looking at a long stretch of nothing much.
Rusty.
