Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s coming up for Praia de Camburi over the next couple of weeks. Don’t get your hopes up too high – this isn’t going to be a classic, but we’ve got a few windows where it might just come together for a paddle.
Right off the bat, the first real chance to get wet is Saturday morning, July 4th. We’ve got a tiny 3ft easterly swell rolling in, with a period of 9 seconds. The combined energy is weak (164), so it’s not going to have much push. The real story here though is the wind – glassy, calm as anything. That’s a major positive. For a beginner-friendly spot, those clean conditions will make it super fun even if the waves are small. Water temp is sitting at 75°, pretty much bang on average for this time of year, so no surprises there. Crowds can pop up here sometimes, so expect some company.
The next little highlight is Tuesday the 7th. The morning starts clean with a light cross-offshore breeze from the north, but the swell is still just 3ft from the SSE, period at 11 seconds. The energy is moderate (299), but it feels a bit lackluster. The afternoon gets interesting though: a moderate offshore wind from the north-northeast at 15 mph, cleaning up those same 3ft waves (218 combined energy). It’s surfable, but very ordinary.
Jumping ahead to Thursday the 9th, we see a spike in energy. The morning has 4ft swell from the SSE at 11 seconds, with combined energy jumping to 660 – moderate, on the stronger side. But the wind is a light cross-onshore, so there’ll be a few ripples on the face. It’s marginal, but that’s the biggest swell of the forecast. The afternoon holds at 4ft, still with some energy (557), but again, cross-shore wind means it won’t be pristine.
Looking into the second week, things get pretty quiet. The best bet might be the morning of Monday the 13th – glassy conditions again, with only 2ft from the SE at 11 seconds (215 energy). It’s surfable but really small and ordinary. The morning of Saturday the 18th also brings glassy conditions, but with a long-period 2ft swell at 15 seconds. That’s a groundswell, so it’ll have more shape, but it’s tiny and better suited to a point break – at a beach setup like Camburi, it might just break too straight.
Towards the end, Sunday the 19th afternoon sees a moderate offshore breeze from the northeast (12 mph) with 2ft SE swell at 13 seconds (256 energy). It’s clean, but again, small. That’s a decent note to end on for a quiet spell.
Overall, the standout moment is Saturday morning, July 4th. It’s not big, but with glassy conditions and a forgiving 3ft easterly swell at a beginner-friendly break, that’s the cleanest surf you’ll find in this run. For anyone who just wants to get out without a fight, that’s your window.
