Alright, let’s have a look at what’s on offer for Praia de Camburi over the next couple of weeks.

Honestly, the start of this period is a tough one. We’ve got a bit of a lull to kick things off. For the first few days, the surf is pretty ordinary – small, messy, and not really worth paddling out for. From Tuesday morning the 15th right through until Friday morning the 18th, the conditions are poor. You’ll see some small swell, but the wind and quality just aren’t there. It’s a bit of a waiting game.

Then, things start to pick up a little. From Friday morning the 18th through to the end of the weekend, we get into some “surfable but very ordinary” waves. The swell is small, around 3ft to 4ft, coming out of the ESE, with a short period of only 6 seconds. That’s not going to give you much push, but the winds turn light and cross-off, keeping the surface clean. The combined energy is moderate, sitting between 173 and 270, so there’s some life in the water, but it’s not going to blow you away.

The real standout? I’d point you towards Sunday afternoon the 20th and Monday afternoon the 21st. On Sunday afternoon, the swell is 4ft from the ESE with an 8-second period, and you’ve got moderate offshore wind from the NE at 16 mph. The combined energy is 213 – solidly moderate – and the conditions will be clean with a moderate offshore breeze. It’s not huge, but it’s the best of the first week. The water temperature is 73°, which is about average for this time of year, so no surprises there.

Come Monday afternoon the 21st, the swell bumps up to 5ft from the E, still with an 8-second period, and a fresh offshore wind from the NE at 19 mph. The combined energy jumps to 319, which is moderate but pushing towards strong. This is a good window for a session if you’re comfortable in that size. The wind will keep things clean, and the offshore direction is perfect for Praia de Camburi, which is sheltered from the S.

Now, for the second week, things get a bit quieter again. From the 22nd through the 25th, the swell drops off significantly. By Friday the 25th, we’re down to 0.7ft with a long 13-second period – that’s barely a ripple. The wind stays offshore, but there’s just not enough energy to work with. The combined energy readings drop into the teens and twenties, which is weak. Not much to get excited about.

Towards the very end of the period, around Tuesday morning the 29th, we see a little pulse of life. The swell is 3ft from the E with an 8-second period, light offshore wind from the NE at 6 mph, and a combined energy of 212. That’s a small but clean window. Then, Tuesday afternoon, the swell shifts to 2ft from the SSE with a very long 15-second period – that’s groundswell energy. The combined energy spikes to 361, which is strong for the size, but that long period can make it break a bit straight at a beach break like this. Still, if you time it right, there might be a few lined-up ones.

Overall, the best bet is that Sunday-to-Monday window around the 20th and 21st. After that, it’s a slow fade with a small glimmer on the 29th. Keep an eye on the forecasts – things can change.
