The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s break down what’s coming for Praia de Camburi over the next couple of weeks.
Water temp is sitting at 73°, right about average for the time of year – nothing unusual. The surf though? Don’t rush out. The first couple of mornings are glassy but with poor surf conditions and weak energy. Monday and Tuesday are only offering very ordinary, surflable waves at best.
The one bright spot is Wednesday, September 18, morning. We’ve got a 4ft swell from E, period of 6 seconds, combined wave energy at 267 (moderate), and glassy conditions with a light NNE breeze at just 3 mph. That’s clean and rideable. The break is sheltered here, so the east swell works fine. Crowds are listed as *sometimes*, so you might see a few others, but nothing crazy.
After that, it’s pretty average. There’s a pulse around Saturday the 21st with 5ft and 6ft swells, but afternoon winds pick up to 16 mph offshore – keeps it clean, but the surf quality stays ordinary. From the 25th onward, the waves drop to tiny 2ft and less, and even with clean offshore wind, there’s just nothing to surf. A long flat spell to finish the run.
Best bet: Wednesday morning the 18th. Otherwise, hang tight.
