Table - best surf conditions forecast for Praia de Camburi over the next 16 days.
Listen up, grab your board and ears, I'm Rusty.
We got a slow start here at Praia de Camburi, but things clean up nicely mid-week. This spot is friendly for beginners, sheltered from the main swell.
Water temp is normal for this time of year, nothing to write home about.
Monday 13th is a total washout. Cross-onshore winds at 15 mph are wrecking a small, weak south swell. Don't even bother.
Tuesday 14th stays ugly. Strong winds and lumpy surf, even with a bit more size in the morning.
But Wednesday 15th is the turning point. Morning's a bit sketchy, but by the afternoon, the wind goes light cross-offshore and the waves clean up. We've got 5ft of southeast swell, period 11 seconds, with moderate energy (544). Good, clean waves for a learner.
Thursday 16th is the absolute pick of the run. Flat calm in the morning – glass – with 5ft of southeast groundswell at 12 seconds. Energy is building (774). This is prime. The afternoon goes offshore with clean 6ft waves from the east-southeast. If you only get one session, this is it. Expect a few other folks out, though – crowds are possible here.
Friday 17th keeps the good vibes going with offshore winds and clean 5ft surf (545 energy). Quality remains high.
Then it fades. Saturday 18th through Monday 20th get smaller and more ordinary, even if the wind is clean. Wave energy drops into the low triple and then double digits.
From Tuesday 21st, it goes flat. Tiny, weak pulses – well under 3ft with low energy – through to Thursday 24th. Not worth paddling out.
A small bump on Wednesday 22nd (3ft) but it's just ordinary.
Late in the run, Sunday 26th shows a 5ft south swell building, but the afternoon has some tide or condition issues. Then Monday 27th brings a big spike – over 6ft of long-period southeast swell (1455 energy) – but with strong cross-onshore winds. That's a messy, choppy beast for experts or maybe kite surfers. Tuesday 28th morning looks a little cleaner with light onshore air, but the swell is dropping.
So the best on offer is Thursday 16th for glassy 5ft waves. Wednesday 15th afternoon and Friday 17th are solid chances. The rest is a long flat spell with a wind-blown pulse right at the end.
Rusty.
