“Quick note: 2018 was a really bad and weird year for our seal population. This was true throughout the Gulf of Maine. I think it was some sort of viral thing that swept through. I'm happy to report that the only seals I saw over the course of 20 beach days this summer were quite happy and healthy.

Scarborough Beach is a beautiful 1-mile beach with a pretty gentle slope and consistently decent waves. There is a surf camp here and 24-hour access with a pass. The water and the beach are nice and clean, though it can get a little seaweedy after a storm.”
